Congratulations to our very own Mrs. Duncan!

Mrs. Carlyn Duncan has been named principal of Forest Oaks Elementary. Mrs. Duncan has over 23 years of experience as an educator in Shelby County Schools.

She began her career as a first-grade teacher in 2003 before transitioning into instructional
coaching and district-level instructional support. Most recently, she has served for the past seven years as the assistant principal at Forest Oaks Elementary School.

Our very own 5th graders, Eduardo Camargo Gachuz and Atticus Richie both received Honorable Mention awards for their illustrations of " Investing" and "Inflation" for the Alabama Council on Economic Education's Color the Concepts Contest. This year there were over 1,100 entries, so this is a very big accomplishment! Congratulations Eduardo and Atticus!
