The town of Chelsea sends its condolences to the LaPointe family on the passing of Ken. Being part of Chelsea’s team for many years, Ken gave so much of his heart and soul to the Fire department and for that the town will forever be grateful. Rest in peace.

In Memory of Ken Lapointe ❤️‍🩹

It is with heavy hearts that the Chelsea Fire Department recognizes the passing of one of our lifelong members, Ken, who dedicated more than 40 years of service to our department and the Chelsea community.

During his many years of service, Ken spent 15 years as Assistant Fire Chief and left a lasting mark on Chelsea Fire that will continue for generations.

Ken was an incredibly talented craftsman and problem solver. He took great pride in designing and building custom fire apparatus for our department, helping create numerous tank trucks from the ground up. From designing tanks and equipment layouts to installing pumps, fittings, and firefighting systems, Ken’s knowledge and craftsmanship helped shape the equipment our members relied on to protect our community.

But Ken’s legacy is about far more than the apparatus he helped build. It is found in more than four decades of dedication, sacrifice, friendship, and service to Chelsea.

Ken gave a tremendous part of his life to this department, and we are forever grateful to have had him as part of the Chelsea Fire family.

Rest easy, Ken. We’ll take it from here.
