Busy Wednesday at the Club in our new United Learning Center space! 📚🌊

We still made sure to get our 20 minutes of reading in before diving into an ocean of learning! Our members learned all about the different zones of the ocean and what makes each layer unique.

Then we took our learning a step further with a fun hands-on experiment that helped us visualize the different layers of the sea! 🧪🌊

Learning, experimenting and having fun—all in one Wednesday. 💙

One year with Nani, our Chief Operating Officer, called for a very special gift: a watermelon helmet. 🍉😂

An ongoing joke on our admin team, Nani has been requesting one for some time. For her Club anniversary, the team made the magic happen—complete with a sticker: “Parkour. It’s a lifestyle.”

And yes, we believe in safety first—even our inside jokes come with a helmet. 😉

Nani, thank you for the heart, dedication and humor you bring to our Club. We’re proud of what we’re building together for our Club Kids and community—and grateful you’re on our team. Here’s to growing better together and laughing along the way. 🍉💚

We’re hiring caring, dependable people who want to make a difference for local youth! 💙

A big thank-you to Timberland Regional Library for helping us spread the word and adding our flyer to its community board. Did you know library cardholders receive a $20 printing credit each month? That’s up to 40 color pages or 200 black-and-white pages!

✨Does your business or organization have a community board?✨Let us know! Our Executive Director, Sarah Althauser, would love to stop by with a flyer.

Did you know your library card gives you access to so much more than books? 📚

From audiobooks and movies to internet access, career resources and even free printing, Timberland Regional Library offers so many incredible resources to our community.

The library has also been an amazing partner to our Club and we’re grateful for all the ways they help our kids and families learn, grow and stay connected. 💙

We believe our youth are leaders—not someday, but right now. 💙

At the Club, we help young people Believe, Achieve and Become. This summer, we brought that commitment to life by launching our Club Ambassador program.

For their very first tour, our Club Ambassadors welcomed Tami Mason Lathrop, Program Officer with the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound. They took the lead, guided an engaging tour and proudly shared the programs, projects and experiences that make their Club meaningful to them.

They were confident, thoughtful and completely themselves. Watching them step into leadership during that first tour, our eyes might have all leaked a little. 🥹 We could not have been prouder of our Club Kids or the staff whose encouragement and mentorship created the space for them to lead.

Tami later shared that the kids were incredible—and we could not agree more.

We are grateful to the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound for being such a valued partner in our mission, believing in the potential of young people and taking the time to listen when they lead.

Today we received a very special gift. ❤️

Susan Potter stopped by with a generous $1,000 donation in honor of her mom, Veronica Oetjen. Veronica was also the grandmother of our much-loved former team member, Mat Potter.

Mat began his Club journey as a Youth Development Professional, later returning as a Club Director before serving as our Director of Finance & Resources. Veronica visited the Club a few times, and our Executive Director, Sarah, had the opportunity to talk with her. Sarah remembers her as such a beautiful, warm soul. Her eyes would light up knowing how her grandson was making a difference for kids and families in our community.

We are so thankful to Susan, Mat and their family for choosing to honor Veronica in a way that will continue making a difference for local kids. What a beautiful way to carry her memory forward. ❤️

Making connections as we head into a new school year! 💙

Over the past couple of weeks, our Boys & Girls Clubs of Lewis County team has connected with families at open houses across all five Centralia elementary schools, Chehalis School District’s back-to-school event and Lewis County Youth Mentorship’s Back to School Supply Giveaway and Resource Fair.

We loved seeing familiar Club faces, meeting new families and sharing the opportunities available for youth at Club!

Thank you to our schools and community partners for bringing families together and welcoming us. We grow better together!

Our staff loved participating in The Science of Reading training this week, provided by Joey Easley, Vice Principal of Lintott Elementary School!

Learning alongside and collaborating with teachers from Chehalis School District was such a valuable and enriching opportunity. We’re grateful for the chance to continue learning together and strengthen how we support young people. ❤️
