The Arc Erie County Preschool and School Age Program At The Arc Erie County Preschool and School Age Program, we do everything in our power to nurture, facilitate and expand each child’s growth and development.

Welcome! At the Heritage Education Program, we recognize that all of our students are children first, and we do everything in our power to nurture, facilitate and expand each child’s growth and development in helping him/her reach for the stars! Our staff cultivate strong relationships with our students, and we work diligently to provide the greatest nurturing, learning environment that enriches the lives of the children we support. We see each child as a child first, and we address each child’s needs holistically, including where he/she is developmentally cognitively, physically, and what his/her sensory needs may be. We then immerse him/her into various learning experiences utilizing developmentally appropriate practices in facilitating learning so that each child may reach his/her fullest potential. One of our parents coined the phrase that Heritage Education Program is a place where hearts help minds grow! Our warm, caring staff ensure that children and families feel secure that they are in a school that truly cares about the students and that we strive to provide the highest quality program.

During the month of May classrooms at our Maryvale Site learned all about butterflies. They learned about their life cycle, what they eat, and where they live. The learning truly came alive when they watched caterpillars turn into a chrysalis and then into a butterfly. We then had a big release party to send off our butterflies who taught us so much!

Lights, Camera, Prom!!!!

On May 8th, we literally rolled out the red carpet for our celebrity guests for our annual prom. This night was all about Hollywood and our students all dressed to impress. More importantly they had fun partaking in a rite of passage for many high schoolers to enjoy with all of their friends. There was plenty of dancing, yummy food and plenty of pictures being taken all through the night.

We'd like to thank Miss Allison for all of your organizing of this night. We'd also like to thank her interns, Isabella and Nzingha for helping Allison with the preparations leading up to the prom. Big thank you to the following:
