🚨 BOATING SAFETY NOTICE 🚨
🚫CHEBOYGAN COUNTY WATERWAYS 🚫

Due to high water levels and significant debris throughout the inland waterway, the following areas are CLOSED to all boat traffic by order of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) until 05/08/2026:

β€’ Cheboygan River (South of the Dam)
β€’ Black River
β€’ Indian River

These conditions present serious safety hazards, including fast currents, floating debris, and the potential for property damage.

The Lakes remain OPEN to boat traffic at this time. However, all boaters and anglers are strongly advised to use extreme caution. There is a large amount of debris in the water that poses a significant hazard to navigation.🌲πŸͺ΅

⚠️ Recommendation:
We strongly encourage all boating activity to halt during this time. If you choose to be on the water:
β€’ Operate at slow speeds
β€’ Maintain a sharp lookout for debris
β€’ Use extreme caution at all times

Your safety and the protection of property are our top priorities. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
