The Chebeague Island Hall Community Center will hold its annual meeting Thursday October 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hall. This building serves the whole community, and everyone is a member. We require a 10% membership quorum to vote, so please show your interest and support by attending or returning this proxy so that we may continue to conduct business and elect members to the Board of Directors.
Current members of the Board of Directors are Binkie Boxer, Dylan Doughty, Denise Hamilton, Sam McLean, Cyrus McLean, Gina Ross, Tad Runge, and Susie Stavropoulos; proposed new member is Katie Urich.
Please fill out your proxy and mail or deliver it to Gina Ross at 214 South Rd or any of the other directors.

Chebeague Island Hall update: Gina has picked out beautiful Roman shades for the windows, and we are waiting for Steve Auffant to install them. All we will then need is art for the walls. We are hoping that those who have some treasured pictures of past events at the Hall may be willing to mat and frame them, perhaps collage style, and donate them (or maybe we could discuss payment as well). We would also welcome paintings of our Community Center or even a rotating series of installations related to the building--say, framed pictures of Martha Hamilton's paper-cutting art (scherenschnitte).

The Hall would like to throw an adults-only, BYOB costume party on Saturday October 30th from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. We are hoping to have live music, dancing, a cakewalk, and fabulous prizes. We will follow all Maine CDC guidelines for the event, and the entire building has HEPA filters to help clean the air. Did I mention that it would be free?
Before we hammer out the details, we wanted to run it by the public. We would really appreciate your comments (approving or skeptical) and get an idea of who might come. If you don't feel like wearing a costume, you don't have to, but you won't be eligible for the aforementioned fabulous prizes.
Let's make the Hall a fun place to gather again!

The Yarmouth vet should be coming this Thursday October 7th on the 8:15 boat, and the signup sheet will be available around 8:00. Feel free to give Sam a call if you have any special concerns about your pet and are worried about your ability to get to the signup sheet. We will do our best to work you in. Dr. Zack is sometimes able to stay until the 2:00 boat. Please wait outside the building until the vet calls you in.

The Yarmouth Vet Clinic will be held on Thursday August 12 from about 8:45 to 1:15. The sign-up sheet will be posted on the front door of the Community Center around 7:45. One line per pet please.

ALL PROCEEDS GO TO HELP PAY FOR THE HALL’S NEW SOUND SYSTEM!

Great news! Dr. Zach and his Yarmouth Vet Center crew will be returning to the Hall beginning July 1st, with subsequent visits scheduled for

August 12th - second thursday of the month -- (note, this would be the one abnormality, unable to come on the first)
