Latest radar imagery shows showers and thunderstorms developing in the vicinity of a northward moving warm front this morning. There remains a risk for an isolated strong to severe thunderstorm for east central Georgia (highlighted in red on the GIF/image below) through early afternoon. We will be monitoring this over the next few hours but as previously mentioned, the main 'show' will be tonight into Monday.

We still have space available for booths during Peaches to the Beaches. We are an official location, recognized by Golden Isles Association. Our site is highly visible with easy on and off the highway. We have 24 hour security, indoor restrooms and plenty of parking. Call the city hall today. 229-868-2296

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Poole family that lost their home and belongings today in a fire. Donations of clothes, household items, appliances and/or money, would be appreciated. Clothes sizes needed are: Male - shirts size large, pants size 36/28, shoes size 8 1/2. Female - shirts size XXlarge, pants size 18 and shoes size 11.
Any working appliances - washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, either donated or at a low cost would be appreciated,

Applications are available for rental spots for the 2025 Peaches to the Beaches to be held March 13th and 14th. A limited number of indoor spots are available. We offer a prime location just off the highway with 24-hour security, ample parking, easy on and off Highway 341, and indoor restrooms available, All proceeds go to the Chauncey Volunteer Fire Department. Come by the Chauncey City Hall on Tuesdays or Thursdays or call 229-868-2296 or 2299 for more information.

Thank you to the citizens of Chauncey who voted to approve the SPLOST. One of the required uses is for recreation. Through these funds, the gym has had several improvements, including new heating and air conditioning. Thank you to Mayor Burch for heading up these many projects.
