..Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of central Laurens, Dodge, Pulaski, west central Treutlen, northern Wilcox, northeastern Dooly, Bleckley and southeastern Houston Counties through 415 PM EDT...

At 332 PM EDT, a line of strong thunderstorms was along a line extending from near Chappells Mill to Mock Springs, and moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind, frequent cloud to ground lightning and
heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of light, unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Locations impacted include...
Dublin, Cochran, Eastman, Hawkinsville, Abbeville, Unadilla, Chester, Dexter, Dudley, Cadwell, Pineview, Pinehurst, Rhine, Chauncey, Rentz, Montrose, Allentown, Union, Plainfield, and Mobley Crossing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to hydroplaning.

The co****le tournament was such a success that we have been asked about having more events. Be on the lookout for another tournament soon.

After consulting with a NOAA representative, checking local radar, the National Weather Service, and other sources, we unfortunately had to postpone our Saturday night fireworks display. We had planned to go ahead with the show tonight, but all forecasts still predict rain. As a result, we have to cancel tonight’s display as well. We hope to set a new date for a future show. Thank you for your support.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to support the co****le tournament. Congratulations to Dylan and Jaye Brown on their championship win in a hard-fought competition. The entertainment provided by Blackwater was superb. Sadly, the fireworks were cancelled due to weather conditions. The fireworks show is being rescheduled for Monday night, and we will keep you informed of any changes.

The music by the Blackwater Band has been moved to inside the gym, beginning at 6:00. The co****le tournament begins at 4:00. All will be in the comfort of air conditioning. Fireworks will be at dark, if the weather allows.
