Mrs. Endick’s 4th grade social studies students brought history to life with their Living Wax Museum!

Students selected a famous Ohioan or inventor to research, then wrote a report, created a trifold display, dressed as their chosen person, memorized a speech, and gathered or created props connected to their accomplishments. 📚🔍

The hard work and creativity on display were incredible. It was a fun project, and our students truly shined! 👏

TPIS 6th graders in Mrs. Ihling’s and Ms. Pappas’ math classes spent several days becoming young entrepreneurs!

They designed their own products, wrote persuasive sales pitches, and calculated prices with discounts and markups. The project wrapped up with students learning how to write checks and then enjoying Market Day, where they shopped and purchased each other’s creative inventions.

Students in Mrs. Wakeley’s and Mrs. Douglas’s class shared their ideas for making Athens a better place for families. They wrote persuasive essays and then created presentations to present their proposals to the class!

They had some excellent and creative ideas, including a putt-putt course, trampoline park, indoor water park, larger mall, indoor sports complex, cat café, soup kitchen, youth center, large garden center, and a CDL training center.

At this year’s East Elementary Art Show, students proudly displayed three artworks each, featuring projects from fall, winter, and spring, along with the debut of the Glow Gallery! 🤩✨

This year’s garden theme was brought to life across all grade levels: preschool created 3D paper plate flowers, kindergarten designed Passion Works–inspired flower collages, first grade explored symmetry with insect art, second grade painted close-up flowers in the style of Georgia O’Keeffe, and third grade created garden birds inspired by Charley Harper, paired with their musical performance of “The Cuckoo.”

A huge thank you to our AMAZING art teacher, Mrs. House, for her incredible work in preparing our Spring Art Show and Garden Party! She hangs three pieces of art for every student in our school, over 1,000 pieces of artwork, creating a truly special celebration of student creativity.
