💐Flowers of Hope 💐

Our Women’s Auxiliary hosted the Flowers of Hope event, bringing joy and connection to residents at Rockbridge Oaks. Twenty floral arrangements were delivered to the memory care unit, while 15 arrangements brightened the dining tables in the assisted living area.

As they entered the memory care unit, the residents’ faces lit up, a heartfelt reminder of how meaningful it is to show up for one another and share simple acts of kindness. 😄

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible and to those who continue to serve and support our community. Together, we are spreading hope, one thoughtful gesture at a time. 💗💗

A warm donut became a reminder that someone cared, and that one act of love has rippled through generations.

Today, hundreds of families across The Salvation Army Chattanooga find comfort, support, and hope through our youth programs and social services.

More than a century ago, the “Donut Lassies” entered the WWI huts with hands full of flour, sugar, and the honest intention to lift the spirits of the soldiers who were far from home. Against all odds, that small act of kindness made a lasting difference.

On June 7, 1938, The Salvation Army celebrated National Donut Day for the first time as a fundraiser to support families facing hardship during the Great Depression. A wonderful act that mirrored and honored the legacy of those courageous women.

Today, at The Salvation Army Chattanooga, we carry this purpose forward each day, meeting local needs with love and compassion through our food services 🍽️ and food pantries 🚚.
