Today, we pause to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001. It’s a day etched in our collective memory, a moment when the world stood still as we witnessed unimaginable tragedy. As we reflect on the events of that day, remember the resilience, unity, and strength that emerged in the aftermath. Let’s never forget the victims, their families, and the heroes who selflessly responded to the crisis!

At 5:56 PM, district 5 and 1 were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire in the 4000 block of Pattentown. Because of the close proximity to the house, additional units were requested in case the fire spread to the residence. 12225 (a lieutenant from station 5) arrived on scene to report a fully involved work van approximately 250 feet from the street. Engine 45 arrived on scene and crews deployed a hand-line to the back of the residence. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes of Engine 45’s arrival. Tanker 54 was asked to continue into the scene to supply water for Engine 45. All other responding units were canceled. The fire was accidentally started by the home owner who was working on the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
