Signal Centers

Signal Centers Our Mission: To strengthen children, adults, and families through services focusing on disabilities, early childhood education, and self-sufficiency.

Signal Centers has been a cornerstone of the Chattanooga community since 1957. Its comprehensive early childhood education and disability services focus on fostering lifelong learning and independence for all. From one classroom of nine children with cerebral palsy to a statewide organization comprised of 13 distinct programs, the nonprofit’s mission of self-sufficiency remains unchanged. Last Wednesday, our TN CCR&R team stepped away from their usual roles and rolled up their sleeves for an afternoon of service supporting programs across Signal Centers. Team members divided into groups to lend their time and talents to Assistive Technology, Children’s Services, Hart Gallery, Adult Day Services, and Work Ready.

From adapting toys and preparing resources to creating alongside Hart Gallery artists, each group experienced our mission from a different perspective. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and to the our local programs who welcomed our CCR&R staff. We truly are stronger together!

Sometimes, finding your next step starts with finding what inspires you. 💙

For Clarence Rogers, Work Ready helped him build confidence, explore his interests, and see a future in technology. Now, he’s setting his sights on the IT program at Chattanooga State and investing in what comes next.

Work Ready is helping participants discover their strengths, build skills and take meaningful steps toward their career goals.
