Labor Day weekend is almost here!

Our office will be closed Monday, September 7, and will reopen Tuesday, September 8, during regular business hours.

Malinda from was named the 2026 TAUD Administrative Professional of the Year, and if you know Malinda, you know how fitting that is.

This award goes to an office manager who gives excellent support to leadership and the team. For more than 23 years, that’s exactly what Malinda has done at Eastside. She keeps the office running, jumps in wherever she’s needed, helps customers, and somehow still finds time to make sure our events go off without a hitch. And yes, she’s often the one still here after hours making sure everything’s taken care of.

To all of us at Eastside, Malinda is more than our office manager, she’s family. Thank you for everything you do. This one was well deserved. Congratulations!

What a great week for Tennessee water!

Members of our team spent the week in Gatlinburg at the TAUD Business Conference, joining utility professionals from across Tennessee for educational and technical sessions, industry updates, networking and opportunities to learn about the latest resources available to the water and utility industry.

A highlight of the week was TAUD’s Women in Water luncheon, with this year’s theme, “A League of Our Own.” Women in Water focuses on connecting, empowering and inspiring women in the water and wastewater industry. The luncheon featured encouraging and inspirational messages, along with networking, door prizes and a fun team building challenge to see who could build the tallest self standing balloon structure!

We were also proud to see two of our own recognized during the conference. Malinda was honored as TAUD’s Administrative Professional of the Year, and Richard, our Chief Operator, was recognized for previously being named the 2026 TAUD Water Treatment Operator of the Year. We’ll be sharing more about Malinda and her recognition soon!

We also enjoyed cheering on the finalists in the Best Tasting Water Contest. Congratulations to our neighbors at Union Fork Bakewell Utility District on being named Tennessee’s Best Tasting Water!

It was a great week of learning, connecting and celebrating the people who make Tennessee’s water industry something to be proud of.

💧 UPDATE: Water service has been restored to Standifer Gap Road and surrounding areas. If your water looks dirty or cloudy, run cold water from the faucet farthest from your water meter until it runs clear. This is normal after service is restored. Thank you for your patience, and a big thank you to our crews for getting service back online.

UPDATE: The leak has been located in the water main off Standifer Gap Rd. Additional personnel are being called in to assist with repairs and traffic control. We do not have an estimated completion time yet. Please use extra caution when driving through the area.

UPDATE: Main break on Fairest Dr. in Harrison is now fixed.

⚠️💧A water main break has occurred on Fairest Drive in Harrison and may affect water service in the surrounding area.

Our crews are on site and actively working to make repairs. We appreciate your patience as they work to restore service as safely and quickly as possible.

This week, Eastside Utility hosted professionals from across the region for a three day Cross Connection Control class. Participants covered state and local requirements, backflow principles, real world hazards and proper testing procedures. This morning, each participant is completing a written exam and demonstrating their ability to test a reduced pressure principle assembly and a double check valve assembly according to procedures. We wish them the best of luck!
