4/12/2026 - Woodland Fire & EMS will be conducting a large-scale inter-agency training exercise today and will be staging apparatus and equipment in the area of Cedar Road and Laurel Lane.

There is no emergency and no cause for concern for residents. This is only a training exercise.

You may notice emergency vehicles, personnel, and training activity in the area during this time. We appreciate the public’s understanding as we conduct this important training to help keep our community prepared.

March 29, 2026 - New Jersey Forest Fire will be conducting a prescribed burn near the end of Baptist Road. Expect smoke conditions in the area for the remainder of the day. Any questions contact the Office of Emergency Management 609-621-5757. For all emergencies, dial 911.

Update 7pm, 2/24/26: Savoy Blvd. has been reopened in from 563 to the County Line.

Update 8pm, 2/23/2026: Savoy Blvd. Between 563 and 72 has been reopened. All trees that were currently down have been removed by public works. Continue to use caution around town as more trees have been falling regularly.

Due to the ongoing winter storm and the extreme danger of falling trees, portions of Savoy Blvd. are now closed.

🔴 Savoy Blvd. from Route 72 to the Ocean County line is CLOSED to all traffic.
🟡 Savoy Blvd. between County Route 563 and Route 72 is LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY.

Trees are falling at a high rate and roadways are likely impassable.

⚠️ There is a danger of falling trees on ALL town roadways.
If at all possible, please stay inside and remain off the roads.

⚠️ Do NOT loiter on the roadway.
Avoid the area and use alternate routes.

The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management under the New Jersey State Police has issued a mandatory travel restriction due to a major winter storm expected to bring heavy snow, blizzard conditions, and strong winds statewide.

** UPDATE **

🚨This Travel Restriction has been extended until 12 PM today. 🚨

A Travel Restriction is in effect to protect public safety and support emergency response operations.

This measure is intended to safeguard lives and allow emergency and utility crews to clear roadways and restore essential services as quickly as possible.

Please comply with the restriction and avoid unnecessary travel.

❄️ WINTER STORM UPDATE – SUNDAY INTO MONDAY ❄️

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for our area from Sunday at 10:00 AM through Monday at 6:00 PM.

While light precipitation may begin earlier, the bulk of the storm is expected later Sunday and will continue through Monday, with periods of heavy snow, strong winds, and significantly reduced visibility. Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate Sunday evening and could remain hazardous into Monday.

⚠️ What to Expect:
• Heavy snowfall with strong wind gusts
• Blowing and drifting snow
• Potential whiteout conditions
• Dangerous travel conditions, especially Sunday night into Monday morning

As with our previous storm events, the Woodland Township Office of Emergency Management Emergency Operations Center will be staffed during the storm to assist residents and coordinate with county and state agencies as needed.

We encourage residents to:
✔️ Complete storm preparations by Sunday morning
✔️ Avoid unnecessary travel once conditions worsen
✔️ Check on elderly or vulnerable neighbors
✔️ Charge devices and have emergency supplies ready

✅❄️ STATE OF EMERGENCY RESCINDED – WOODLAND TOWNSHIP ❄️✅

The Municipal State of Emergency for Woodland Township is officially rescinded as of 6:00 PM on Monday, January 26, 2026.

The Office of Emergency Management would like to extend its sincere thanks to everyone who played a role in keeping our community safe during this storm event.

A special thank you to Woodland Township Public Works for their tireless efforts in keeping roadways in the best condition possible throughout the storm. We also thank Woodland Fire & EMS, whose crews remained on standby in quarters for the duration of the storm event and responded to all calls for assistance as needed.

We are especially grateful to our residents for their cooperation, patience, and adherence to emergency regulations during the storm. Your actions greatly assisted emergency responders and public works operations.

While the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will be closed at 6pm tonight, residents who require assistance or have storm-related concerns may still contact the Woodland Township Office of Emergency Management at 609-621-5757.

⚠️❄️ Winter Storm Update – Woodland Township ❄️⚠️

The National Weather Service has updated the forecast for the winter storm expected late Saturday night through Monday morning. While projected snowfall amounts have trended slightly lower, ice accumulation has increased in some areas, which may lead to hazardous travel conditions and potential power disruptions.

Key Points:

Snow is expected to begin after midnight Saturday night into early Sunday morning

The heaviest precipitation and greatest impacts are expected Sunday through Sunday evening

Conditions will gradually improve into Monday morning

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for our entire region

Very cold temperatures are expected to persist through next weekend

Residents are encouraged to:
✔️ Avoid unnecessary travel during the storm
✔️ Prepare for possible power outages
✔️ Check on elderly neighbors and those who may need assistance
✔️ Monitor weather updates and official township communications

Woodland Township OEM continues to monitor the storm closely and will provide updates as conditions warrant. Please stay safe and plan accordingly.
