A couple rain delays but we finally got to start the game! Li'l Miss Illinois 2025 - Elsie Bieri Junior Miss Moline 2026 - Cataleya Munoz and I all got to throw out a first pitch! We had so much fun on the field together. Thanks again to Li’l Miss Iowa 2022 - Harper Wittmer for the custom baseball jersey it was perfect for tonight.

It’s Father’s Day Weekend so I couldn’t forget my friends Gordon Behrents Senior Center. To celebrate we took Hershey’s chocolate bars for everyone. We got there just in time for me to help (and play) bags with everyone.

I’m excited to go back next Friday for family day and they are raising money for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. They are going to have pies to throw and I’m definitely taking money for that and I might even end up getting a pie in my face from one of my favorite staff members. Anything for a good cause!

Day 2 was a busy one! I spent my free time in the morning shopping Eccentrics Boutique where I found the cutest gift for my Miss Mentor and then headed to Downtown Fizz to meet up with my Miss Illinois Youth Program sisters and new Jewels friend before officially checking in as a Miss Illinois Jewel! We had outfit of choice and on stage question last night and got to watch the competition from the balcony. I never dreamed of any of this when I signed up to compete with MIY and now I can’t imagine not being here every year and hopefully being able to be on stage competing one day!

I had the most amazing night at Miss Illinois! Everyone looked amazing and did such a great job. The judges have their work cut out for them. Before the show the nicest man heard me awing over an auction basket and the next thing I know he bought it for me. I couldn’t thank him enough! After the show I got to catch up with everyone including Miss America’s Teen, Miss Illinois’ Teen and especially Miss Illinois! I’m not sure how I’m going to fall asleep after all the excitement but I’ll need my rest to make it through another long day tomorrow!

I was honored to help at the practice for the second annual Miss Knox County Juneteenth Pageant! I can’t watch the show on Saturday but anyone in the area won’t want to miss it, the opening number is amazing and all the girls are beautiful. I can’t wait to see who my sister queens will be!

Another Therapy Thursday- Did you know that therapeutic horseback riding can help enhance communication? For people with autism or other speech challenges, providing verbal and even nonverbal commands to a horse can become a powerful incentive to communicate.

I’ve been able to watch David’s communication improve firsthand. When he started riding he didn’t say much and really only answered questions that had an option to choose from. Now David talks non stop and he’s improved his volume also. Even though he can be annoying when he’s talking so much I still love being able to see him communicate with everyone!

Today while David was riding I was busy helping clean stalls so all the horses could have a cozy place to rest after a hard day working.
