Michigan Technological University’s Army ROTC is excited to announce a unique training event on Friday, Sept. 11, from 2-4 p.m. at MTU’s Kearly Stadium. This event will feature three UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters from the 3-238th General Support Aviation Battalion, headquartered in Grand Ledge, Michigan. Select Army ROTC cadets will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the aircraft as part of their leadership development and training as future officers in the United States Army.

We are proud to welcome back several Michigan Tech alumni who are returning to campus by air as pilots and passengers for this special event!

This event offers a fantastic opportunity for all MTU students and the public to witness the landing and takeoff of these spectacular aircraft. Spectators are welcome to watch from a safe distance outside the playing field perimeter in Kearly Stadium.

Following the event, the UH-60s plan to conduct a flyover of the Sept. 11 Calumet High School home football game during the national anthem. These events also serve as a commemoration to honor the service members and civilians who lost their lives in the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001.

Thank you to all the Veterans and Auxiliary members who took time to volunteer this year for our community Strawberry Festival. It was a hot day for selling the best brats and hot dogs in the heat and to everyone who marched and participated on the float.
