In August, our Executive Director and Deputy Director attended the 2026 North Central Regional Council (NCRC) NAHRO Conference in Indianapolis!

Housing professional from across the North Central Region gathered for a variety of educational sessions covering all things housing. Our Executive Director had the opportunity to present on our Community Land Trust Program as well. The conference was not only a great opportunity for learning, but also for networking and collaborating with other members.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to connect with industry peers and gather new knowledge and perspectives to support our work!

Congratulations Kriisten and thank you for all that you do for the CDA!

July marked the ninth month of our Committed Deserving Awesome (CDA) Employee of the Month! Staff submitted nomination forms to nominate a coworker for the CDA Employee of the Month. One staff member was selected from the nominations for July. Kriisten, our Compliance Specialist, was selected and recognized for her dedication and for always going above and beyond!

Neighborhood Development Alliance (NeDA) is excited to offer an in-person First-Time Homebuyer Workshop in English on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and FREE! This workshop is designed to help prospective homebuyers understand the homebuying process, including budgeting, credit, mortgages, down payment assistance programs, and working with lenders and real estate professionals.

Participants must attend the entire workshop to receive a Certificate of Completion, which is required for most homebuyer assistance programs.

That’s why Week 2 is all about affordable housing preservation, including Public Housing and Project-Based Rental Assistance. Join NAHRO and housing advocates across the country this week as we:
📅 Schedule site visits and in-district advocacy meetings to show elected officials the benefits of preservation;
📨 Write to Congress urging them to fully fund Public Housing and PBRA;
📸 Show off your amazing work with pictures of your advocacy activity.
