Meals on Wheels of Charlottesville-Albemarle We serve any resident who is unable to prepare nutritious meals and who has no one to help them with meal preparation.

Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious lunchtime meals Monday through Friday to residents of the Charlottesville/Albemarle area on a temporary or long-term basis. Our goal is to provide not only appetizing nutritious food, but also daily social contact to people who are hungry and alone. Donations are greatly appreciated:

Reel in a super value and have a real good time!Join us on Friday, March 30th from 5:30 - 7:30pm in the Fellowship Hall of the Scottsville United Methodist Church on Main Street in Scottsville for a traditional fish and chip dinner to benefit Meals on Wheels!
This year's menu includes fish & chips, coleslaw, cornbread, brownies & a beverage.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.

Tickets can be purchased at the door and carry out is available. Call 434-286-2888 for more information.

Friendship, cooperation and good food are what make our local fish fry so successful. Everyone who works at the fish fry is a volunteer, and this community support enables us to give all profits to provide meals for our homebound neighbors.

Join us at Charlottesville's premier food and wine tasting event features area restaurants and beverage purveyors who support the fight to end hunger in our community.
Tickets cost $40 again this year and 100% of ticket sales will benefit Meals on Wheels and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.

Mayor Satyendra Huja delivered meals with Gene Carpenter on Wednesday, March 21st to show his support for our community’s homebound and hungry seniors. Media personnel were invited to follow Mayor Satyendra Huja for part of his delivery route.

“We are excited about having Mayor Huja participate in our Mayors for Meals Day event,” said Dawn Grzegorczyk “Our Mayor has been involved with our program since its beginning in 1977 and national Mayors for Meals Day is an excellent way to continue the relationship.”
