Stony Point Volunteer Fire Company is seeking qualified commercial generator contractors in Albemarle County and Central Virginia for a standby generator replacement at our fire station. Our existing standby generator has failed, making reliable backup power replacement a priority.

SPVFC has issued an Invitation for Bids for the furnishing and installation of a new propane-fueled standby generator system.

The project includes evaluation of the station’s electrical requirements, review of the existing automatic transfer switch, installation, testing, commissioning, and related site work as needed.

Bids are due Friday, September 11, 2026, by 5:00 PM EST.

Prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to schedule a site visit before submitting a proposal.

While you're at it, walk through your home fire escape plan with your family, two ways out of every room, and a meeting spot outside.
