University Democrats at UVA

The University Democrats seek to support progressive candidates and policies at UVA.

The University Democrats is a Contracted Independent Organization (CIO) at the University of Virginia dedicated to developing progressive young leaders and getting Democratic candidates elected to office at every level. Our membership meets weekly to learn how to get those candidates elected as well as learn about various issues, causes, and groups. We're all about campaigning, community service,

productive debate, and having fun! Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts, or omissions. Spring 2022 Executive Board Members:

This is a great opportunity to polish up your professional resume and networking skills. We will also have upperclassmen resume mentors to help give peer advice and feedback. Join us this Wednesday to hear from two great community leaders, Livable Cville Chair Matthew Gillikin and City Council Vice Mayor Natalie Oschrin. They will discuss the housing crisis in Charlottesville, as well as ongoing community efforts to make living in the city more affordable. Pizza provided, as always!

Interested in voting on the referendum but don’t know when, where , or how? Here’s the post for you!! Remember- same day registration is a thing in Virginia so if you are registered back home and forgot to order an absentee ballot you can register day of with your student id!
