We have been home and host to the leaders of the 20th century. More than a century of history and hospitality is behind everything we do. Built in 1915 and tripled by its most famous owner James Buchanan Duke, The Duke Mansion has been home and host to leaders of the 20th century. Duke’s most lasting legacies, including Duke University, Duke Energy and the Duke Endowment, took shape at the home. L

isted on the National Register of Historic Places, The Mansion is now operated as a nonprofit Historic Inn and Meeting Place, with all proceeds being used to preserve and protect this community treasure.

Enjoy cocktails from our credit bar, including Duke Mansion Dry Bar options, with charcuterie and light snacks available for purchase. Stay for our 5:45 PM history tour and learn more about the gardens and the history of Duke Mansion.

A $10 suggested donation supports Duke Mansion, and Preservation Society and Colonnade members attend as our guests.
