In the past couple days in Charlotte:
-6 Charlotte Organizers were held as political prisoners by CMPD
-2 are still imprisoned at the time of writing
-CMPD Murdered Josué Javier Díaz in broad daylight, no release of the officer's name
-CMPD harassed/threatened arrest to family members and friends at Díaz's funeral and vigil
-30 Asian and African Refugees denied entrance at Charlotte-Douglas International
-No charges will be filed for the murder of Daniel Harris, a deaf and mute man, by NC State Troopers in Charlotte
-2 Muslim-Americans here harassed, detained, and racially insulted by security forces at Charlotte-Douglas International

"We want clarity on the situation, and we still have not received it. We are still unclear on what happened to B**g in the last hours of his life. Since his death in April 2016, today was the first time that we have even seen any images of what happened that night. Anything that we know was relayed to us, firstly, by a CMPD officer and today by a DA. We want to see and understand for ourselves what happened and how B**g was killed. We have decided to request access to the full investigative file from the CMPD. The file will have camera footage from the gas station, police body and dash cameras, as well as any audio from the 911 and officer dispatch calls. We have a lot of questions as to what happened and why. These questions will not be answered until we have full access to the investigative file--not bits and pieces provided by the media, CMPD, SBI, and DA. If denied, we are prepared to seek a court order to have full access to the investigative file--an additional legal hurdle placed on our family from the newly enacted HB 972 prohibiting the release of police video recordings to the public."

Reflection: Tonight we held a vigil for Timothy Davis, an 18 year old teenager who recently graduated high-school. He was murdered this morning by a CMPD plain clothes SWAT Team who said they were there to serve a warrant.CMPD as well as the Media are attempting to paint his death as a su***de committed by allegedly shooting himself in the face with a gun he did not posses. But tonight we had the opportunity to meet his family, his neighbors, his best friends, and the witnesses, they paint a completely different story, but a story that the community, and anyone who understands the struggle we face here in Charlotte is all too familiar with. One of police murder and cover up. This is the second time in 3 months that CMPD attempted to serve a warrant and a black man died as a result. We have been to too many vigils this year, we have seen too many families destroyed in this city as a result of police murder, police brutality, and police kidnapping, something needs to change. I plead with you to contact me if you are interested in getting involved in the struggle. Tomorrow at 4PM we will meet at the Charlotte Court House to call for the arrest, conviction, and the jailing of his murderers. The Police Killed Tim Davis! Justice for Keith Lamont Scott!
