It was an honor to meet Commander of U.S. 1st Infantry Division Major General Douglas A. Sims II. We discussed security situation in the region and the changed approach to defense.
It is really great hearing compliments from the general on host nation support in Lithuania. U.S. troops give the best feedback on serving in Lithuania. This only encourages us to continue working on the best conditions for our allies living and training in their temporary "home" in Lithuania.
The U.S. Division 1 is just another proof, that United States will be where they are needed.
