TRISTAR HORIZON MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCES HCA HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION GRANT TO SUPPORT CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER CARE FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IMPACTED BY ABUSE
A $15,000 HCA Healthcare Foundation grant will support free forensic interviews, trauma therapy, victim assistance and court advocacy for families across the 23rd Judicial District.
DICKSON, Tenn., (June 12, 2026)—TriStar Horizon Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, announced today a $15,000 grant from the HCA Healthcare Foundation to support the Child Advocacy Center for the 23rd Judicial District (CAC), a nonprofit that supports providing critical services for children and families impacted by abuse.
For 21 years the Child Advocacy Center has helped children and families across its five-county service area access forensic interviews, trauma therapy, victim compensation assistance and court advocacy at no cost. Since its founding, the CAC has conducted over 6,000 forensic interviews, provided 20,000 therapy sessions and assisted with10,200 child abuse cases.
“Behind every number is a child and family who deserve safety, support and a path toward healing,” said Wyatt Chocklett, chief executive officer at TriStar Horizon. “The Child Advocacy Center plays a vital role in helping families access compassionate, coordinated services during a difficult time. We are honored to support their work and continue our partnership in service to our community.”
The grant will help support the CAC’s multidisciplinary approach to serving child victims of severe abuse, including trauma-informed care, advocacy and support services that help reduce barriers for families.
“This grant is critically important to the operation of the CAC of the 23rd Judicial District,” said Kathryn Norbeck, executive director. “Support from the HCA Healthcare Foundation will assist our team in the work of helping children and their families heal from the trauma and victimization of child abuse.”
Tristar Horizon has supported the Child Advocacy Center through event sponsorship, volunteerism and board service. The funding comes from the HCA Healthcare Foundation’s Middle Tennessee Fund, which supports organizations across Davidson, Williamson, Wilson, Rutherford, Cheatham, Dickson, Robertson and Sumner counties. In 2025, the HCA Healthcare Foundation’s Middle Tennessee Fund awarded 261 grants totaling $7,515,000 to 221 nonprofits.
