🎶🌳 The Stage is Set for Summer! 🌳🎶

Our Charlotte Department of Public Works crew has been hard at work preparing the Historic Courthouse Lawn for another fantastic season of the Summer Concert Series!

This morning, DPW staff assembled the stage that will soon host talented musicians, family gatherings, and summer memories throughout the season. From setting up equipment to ensuring the venue is safe and ready for visitors, our team is proud to help make these community events possible.

When you attend a concert this summer, take a moment to appreciate the behind-the-scenes work that goes into creating these experiences for our community. Thank you to our DPW crew for their dedication and teamwork!

We can’t wait to see everyone enjoying music on the lawn once again. Grab your lawn chairs, bring your friends and family, and join us for a summer filled with great entertainment right in the heart of Charlotte!

🎵 See you on the Courthouse Lawn! 🎵

Today we stand with our fellow public works and transportation professionals across Michigan as we mourn the loss of two MDOT road workers.

Every member of a road crew, utility crew, or DPW team deserves to make it home safely at the end of their shift. Work zones are someone’s workplace — and a moment of distraction behind the wheel can change lives forever.

As you travel through work zones, please slow down, stay alert, put distractions away, and move over when possible.

We keep the families, friends, and coworkers affected by this tragedy in our thoughts.

🚧👷Keeping our roads in better condition takes more than just repairs — it also takes preventative maintenance!🛣🚧

This video highlights the 2025 Reclamite application process, a pavement preservation treatment used on newer asphalt roads to help extend the life of the roadway and protect the investment made by our community.

Reclamite works by restoring essential oils back into the asphalt surface, helping reduce drying, cracking, and weather-related wear over time. Applying treatments like this at the right time can help delay costly reconstruction projects and keep roads smoother and safer for years to come.

Preventative maintenance is one of the many tools used to improve the long-term condition of our streets while making the most of taxpayer dollars. 🚧
