Charlotte Fire mourns the loss of Boston Firefighter Robert “Bobby” Kilduff Jr., who tragically lost his life in the line of duty while battling a house fire in Dorchester.
Firefighter Kilduff, a 24-year veteran assigned to Rescue Company 2, suffered fatal injuries after falling from the third floor of a burning home during firefighting operations. Despite the efforts of fellow firefighters and medical personnel, he later passed away at Boston Medical Center.
A third-generation firefighter and U.S. Marine veteran, Kilduff dedicated his life to serving others with courage and honor. Earlier that same day, he had responded to and helped save a person during a technical rescue incident. Through decades of service, he embodied the commitment and sacrifice carried by those who answer the call.
He is survived by his son and daughter. Our hearts are with the Kilduff family, the Boston Fire Department, and all those mourning this devastating loss. We stand in solidarity with them as they honor Bobby’s life, service, and ultimate sacrifice.
