Last week, the Centralina team had the chance to tour the River District in Charlotte โ€” and there was a lot to be excited about.

What stood out most was seeing how sustainability is being woven into the community from the beginning. More than 500 acres of natural space will be preserved, 30+ miles of trails are planned, public access to the Catawba River will be expanded, and even the wildlife already calling the area home has been considered through a biodiversity study.

But we may be most excited about the two-acre sustainable farm and orchard! ๐ŸŒฑ With a farmers market, farm store, playground and gathering spaces planned, itโ€™s easy to imagine this becoming a place where people from across the community come together.

It was exciting to see what thoughtful growth can look like on the ground โ€” and what it could mean for our growing region.

Thanks to the tour guides!
