Sugar Creek Charter School Welcome to Sugar Creek Charter School. Our school houses K-12th grade. Our school has begun a renewed focus on technology as an instructional tool.

Our faculty and our staff provide students and parents with an inviting atmosphere where our goal is to assist students to become the best and the brightest in Charlotte. We offer our students a balanced academic program in our core curriculum with a strong emphasis on reading and math. Our school also offers students many “special” programs for enrichment and fulfillment such as Character Educati

on, Computers, PE, Art and Music. Sugar Creek Charter students have many services available to them throughout the school day. These include: Exceptional Children (EC) services, full-time nursing care, and a part-time mental health professional. Students and teachers at our school have been working very hard improving reading and math scores. Besides improving academics, our students and faculty continue to implement our “Code of Civility” focusing on character education. Our faculty and staff feel that educating students for responsible citizenship is part of our responsibility to children. Teachers and students are offered more access to technology and to the Internet. We feel that we offer students, teachers, and parents a safe learning environment. SCCS families, join us Thursday, Sept. 10, for an evening of resources, connection and conversation! 💙💛

Our Mobile Food Pantry will be available from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by Family Engagement Council Meeting No. 2 at 6 p.m. This month, we are celebrating culture and learning more about how SCCS supports multilingual families.

Come meet members of our ESL team, hear family perspectives, share ideas for Hispanic Heritage Month and bring questions or concerns you would like our team to help address.

Families can participate in person or virtually, and volunteers are welcome to help with the food distribution.

Happy Labor Day Weekend, SCCS!

Sugar Creek Charter School will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day as we recognize the hard work and contributions of workers throughout our community.

Students will return to school on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026.

Family Survey Week continues, and we want to hear from every family.

Your feedback helps Sugar Creek better understand the needs, experiences, and priorities of our school community.

We are working toward at least 500 completed surveys to ensure strong representation, but our goal is to hear from as many families as possible.

Your feedback also leads to action. Last school year, families shared that it was not always clear who to contact for support. In response, we created a “Who to Go To” resource to make it easier to find the right person or department.

Now, we want to hear from you again.

Family Survey Week: Your Communication Preferences Matter

Families, yesterday we shared how your feedback helped us expand volunteer opportunities. Today, we are highlighting another way your voice has helped shape Sugar Creek.

Last school year, families told us that they prefer different ways to receive school information.

We listened.

Sugar Creek continues to communicate through multiple methods, including email, Infinite Campus, text messages, phone calls, and ClassDojo, so families have several ways to receive important information and stay connected.

Now, we want to know how communication is working for your family this year.

Please complete the Beginning of Year Family Engagement Survey by Friday, September 4.

📌 What We Heard at FEC

Our first Family Engagement Council meeting gave families an opportunity to share questions, concerns, ideas and goals for the school year.

Families discussed topics including MTSS and tiers of intervention, increasing visibility and support for our EC community, strengthening family communication and creating more opportunities for parents to contribute their talents, experiences and community connections to Sugar Creek.

We are listening, and these conversations will help guide future family resources, communication and FEC discussions throughout the year.

Family Engagement in Action at the Creek!

Our first Family Engagement Council meeting brought families and staff together for an evening of conversation, connection and shared purpose.

Families had the opportunity to hear important school updates, ask questions, share their experiences and discuss the goals and opportunities they would like to see throughout the school year. We also loved creating a welcoming space where our youngest Wildcats could enjoy activities while their families participated. 🐾

Thank you to every family who joined us, contributed to the conversation and continues to invest in our school community. When families are engaged, informed and connected, our entire Wildcat community grows stronger.
