Sugar Creek Charter School Welcome to Sugar Creek Charter School. Our school houses K-12th grade. Our school has begun a renewed focus on technology as an instructional tool.

Our faculty and our staff provide students and parents with an inviting atmosphere where our goal is to assist students to become the best and the brightest in Charlotte. We offer our students a balanced academic program in our core curriculum with a strong emphasis on reading and math. Our school also offers students many “special” programs for enrichment and fulfillment such as Character Educati

on, Computers, PE, Art and Music. Sugar Creek Charter students have many services available to them throughout the school day. These include: Exceptional Children (EC) services, full-time nursing care, and a part-time mental health professional. Students and teachers at our school have been working very hard improving reading and math scores. Besides improving academics, our students and faculty continue to implement our “Code of Civility” focusing on character education. Our faculty and staff feel that educating students for responsible citizenship is part of our responsibility to children. Teachers and students are offered more access to technology and to the Internet. We feel that we offer students, teachers, and parents a safe learning environment. A huge shoutout to our Pulse and Pride Drumline and Pulse and Pride Divas for an outstanding year!

This year marked the inaugural season of our Pulse and Pride Drumline, and they made their presence known with excellence, energy and school pride. From marching in the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade to making several community appearances and even being featured on the news, our scholars represented Sugar Creek with confidence and Wildcat pride every step of the way.

We are also proud to celebrate our Pulse and Pride Divas for their dedication, performance and spirit throughout the year. Together, these scholars helped bring rhythm, joy and pride to our school community.

Our Club 180 scholars had an amazing time celebrating at Dave & Buster’s!

This special outing was a joyful opportunity to recognize their commitment, growth and hard work as they continue striving toward positive change through the 5 Rs of our restorative goals: respect, relationship, responsibility, repair and reintegration.

Thursday, June 11: High School Graduation at 6:00 p.m.

🎉 Afterschool care is coming to Sugar Creek Charter School!

Dynamic Learning Academy will offer afterschool care for SCCS students during the 2026 to 2027 school year. The program will run daily from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will include enrichment activities, homework assistance and opportunities for students to grow socially and personally.

The weekly fee is $80, with a sibling discount available. A $100 registration fee is required per student.

Space is limited, so families are encouraged to sign up today.

will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Please help your scholar prepare by ensuring they:

Sugar Creek Charter School will be closed Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.

Both the Turner campus and J. Frank Martin campus will be closed. Students will return Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

As we return, please remember the following important updates:

🏃 Field Day
Tuesday, May 26: Third and fourth grades
Thursday, May 28: Kindergarten and EC grades

Students may wear their Field Day shirt or a regular T-shirt. Superhero themed shirts are preferred. Students should wear athletic shorts and athletic shoes. No sandals, clogs or swimsuits.

📝 EOG retesting will take place Thursday, May 28.
