Jasmine, our fabulous Memory Care Life Enrichment Leader, baked white chocolate chip cookies 🍪 from scratch with our Reflections Members. National Senior Health & Fitness Day is a wonderful celebration. Still, the truth is that staying active, pursuing wellness, and trying new things are part of everyday life at The Charlotte.

This was just another opportunity for our Members to challenge outdated stereotypes, support one another, and show that living well has no age limit.

🎨 We recently undertook our most daring art class to date: paint pour art. We lined the tables and floors with plastic tarps, donned gloves and aprons, and got to work. Our Members took on the challenge of creating beautiful, fluid art pieces! ✨
🖌️ While the project required patience, creativity, and a willingness to try something new, everyone embraced the experience with enthusiasm. Watching the colors swirl and blend together was both exciting and rewarding, and each resident created a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. 🌈 They immediately asked if we could do this project again. 😊

🎉 National Senior Health & Fitness Day 2026 was one for the books and a fantastic opportunity for our Members to step out of their comfort zones and challenge those pesky, outdated stereotypes associated with senior living.

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ We kicked off the day with a spirited walk-a-thon! Even though it rained a bit 🌧️, that didn't put a damper on our spirits. We just adjusted our plans and kept the energy high! 💪 When our walkers made their final lap around the second-floor hall, we pumped up the excitement by playing the Rocky theme song, "Gonna Fly Now." 🎶🥊 Our finishers received medals 🏅 and reusable water bottles 💧 to help them stay hydrated all summer long!

🏐 After the walk-a-thon, we enjoyed an afternoon of volleyball, followed by a wonderful session on healthy living led by our wellness associate, Kimberly. 🌿 And to top it all off, we set up a make-your-own fruit parfait bar! 🍓🫐 Everyone had a blast creating their perfect parfaits with French vanilla yogurt, fresh strawberries and blueberries, and crunchy granola with almonds. It was such a sweet way to end our fantastic day of wellness. 😊

🎶 Queue the music because John Lewis is back for a high-energy performance! 🎤✨ He never fails to pump up the power with his great vocals and song choices. 🎵 The audience is always on their feet, moving along to the songs with happy dancing. 💃🕺 Dancing is one of the best ways to improve your mood, which is why we love seeing the impact music has on our Members! 😊❤️ Thank you for a wonderful visit, as always, John Lewis! 👏🎶
