When a child is inside an unattended vehicle, their temperature can rise quickly and the situation can become dangerous.

No parent or caregiver thinks this can happen to them, but dozens of children each year are either left behind in a vehicle or become trapped inside.

The Tennessee Sheriff’s Association awarded 2 Dickson County students scholarship for the 2026-2027 school year. Creek Wood graduate Morgan Rychlik(daughter of Detective Steve Rychlik) and UT Chattanooga student Karter Harrell (daughter of Captain Jennifer Caruthers)were the recipients. Congratulations ladies!

This special event is open to everyone—all community members, veterans, families, and friends are welcome. Let's come together to remember, reflect, and show our gratitude.

If you live in Dickson County and have a middle school (6-8th grade) child that is interested in law enforcement this is a great way to spend one week of summer break.
