North Carolina SFER Action Network Students for Education Reform Action Network works to close the achievement cap by supports undergraduate students to engage in direct action

We Believe:
Every child can learn and achieve at a high level. In the power of great leaders in the classroom to inspire the next generation. That there should be a high quality public education system must reach every child. Students deserve to learn in a positive school climate that does not criminalize them. We believe that all parents and students have the right to quality school choices. HOW

WE ORGANIZE:
We connect with students who have overcome education inequality, have the political will to call for change, come from the communities they organize in, and are often first-generation college students. Our student network and staff offer training support to teach our members organizing skills. Our members educate and inspire others about crucial policy issues that affect students. SFER chapters partner with local community organizations to lead grassroots campaigns in order to change state and district-level school policies. Our members’ organizing work builds the power of communities that have been traditionally underserved by public schools, and supports those communities as they continue to demand changes to education policies that will better serve students.

Hi all,

We are coordinating a 5 week academy for youth to learn about community organizing and the movement for education justice starting July 10th. This is ideal for high school students interested in activism, but open to any youth who is looking for an opportunity to grow this summer. Please share this link with or DM me with specific recommendations and I am happy to reach out directly to students who you think may be interested.

We have 10 spots open and would love your help in connecting students to this opportunity. It's free! The trainings and curriculum will be lead and taught by college student organizers, so it's going to be awesome!

The more we work to elevate students voice the better our education system will be.
