Our chapter hosted a successful Democratic Women of North Carolina Region 4 Annual Meeting last weekend! Region 4 includes active chapters in Mecklenburg, Lincoln, Gaston, and Iredell counties and chapters just waiting to be activated in Cabarrus and Rowan counties. Featured speakers were Congresswomen Alma Adams, State Senator Woodson Bradley, and MeckDems Chair Wesley Harris. Thank you to Eileen Paroff, Stephanie Collins Frempong, and others who help organize it!

The DWMC have decided enough is enough. We've recently passed several resolutions but the most recent one may be the most important! See below:

RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE IMPEACHMENT AND REMOVAL OF
DONALD J. TRUMP FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

WHEREAS: On April 7, 2026, President Donald J. Trump wrote on his social media platform that he would end “a whole civilization“ if Iran did not comply with a deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

WHEREAS: The United States signed the Geneva Conventions of 1949, which states that “civilians are to be protected from murder, torture, brutality and from discrimination on the basis of race, nationality, religion or political opinion.”(The Fourth Geneva Convention, articles 13 and 32).

WHEREAS: The President posted on his social media platform on Easter Sunday the following words:

“Donald J. Trump ®
Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fu**in' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP”

WHEREAS: The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres “is “alarmed” by President Donald Trump’s threats to attack civilian infrastructure in Iran.” (bloomberg.com, April 6, 2026)

WHEREAS: The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres “has asked the US and Iran to abide by international law and that civilian infrastructure be left alone.” (bloomberg.com April 6, 2026)

WHEREAS: U.S. Representative John Larson (D-Connecticut) filed thirteen articles of impeachment against President Trump for high crimes and misdemeanors. Representative Larson filed the articles of impeachment on Monday, April 6, 2026, as H. Res. 1155. https://www.congress.gov › bill › house-resolution › 1155

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The President of the United States Donald J. Trump must be removed from office by impeachment in the United States House of Representatives, then convicted and removed from office by a two-thirds majority vote of the United States Senate.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Democratic Women of Mecklenburg County are in support of this resolution that President Donald J. Trump be impeached and removed from office.
