We're excited to share the results from our 2025 Beautification Grant! This past fall, KCB supported local community groups with up to $8,000 in grants for beautification projects! In 2025, we received 18 amazing proposals. After careful consideration, the KCB board invited six organizations to apply and chose two wonderful grantees!

Congratulations to Charlotte Bilingual Preschool, who received $3,000 to create beautiful pollinator garden beds, add new herb garden boxes, design stone pathways, plant trees, and stain picnic tables for everyone at their school to enjoy.

Big cheers as well to Zealous Empowering Nurturer Inc., who was awarded $4,000 to expand their pollinator and native plant gardens, improve the apiary habitat, refresh garden pathways, and add educational signage about sustainable practices.

We can't wait to see your project ideas for our upcoming 2026 Beautification Grant cycle!

Thank you to the dozens of volunteers that came out on Saturday to count pollinators as part of the Great Southeastern Pollinator Census! We’re also incredibly thankful for the cleanup work done by these groups over the past week:

- Piedmont Natural Gas

Together, volunteers made Charlotte a little cleaner and a little more beautiful this week! 🦋🐝🚮

Wow! In FY 2026, our amazing 343 Adopt-A-City-Street groups spent over 14,000 hours collecting more than 6,000 bags of litter across the city, including 53 brand new groups! Plus, 16 dedicated Adopt-A-Bus-Stop groups gave over 200 hours and picked up over 100 bags of litter.

This marks a record-breaking year for both programs! Thank you so much to all our wonderful AACS and AABS volunteers for your dedication, you make a huge difference!

Come out to our three public gardens, receive a token at each site, and turn in two or more of them to Birdsong Brewing after the event for a free beverage or Bee City Charlotte sticker! 🐝🦋🌻
