Last year, the Arts & Science Council (ASC) funded over $10 million to 115 organizations and 22 artists in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. One of the beneficiaries of ASC's support has been On Q Productions, an emerging African American Theater company founded in 2006 by Quentin "Q" Talley.

Producing original works that reflect the black diaspora, particularly that of African Americans, On Q Productions is one of the many diverse arts offerings in Charlotte that make up our vibrant cultural scene. As one of ASC's Cultural Innovation Award winners, On Q Productions will receive $30,000 in unrestricted funding from ASC over the next year, as well as funding for an executive coach to help them meet their transformation goals.

An original On Q Production, seen in this video, Miles & Coltrane: Blue(.), has traveled to Edinburgh and NYC to rave reviews.
