Do you know your Army Branches?

Today, we're featuring the U.S. Army Aviation Branch - rooted in Civil War observation balloons and transformed into a decisive combat force following the Wright borthers' aircraft entering service in 1909. From World War II to Korea and Vietnam, Army Aviation redefined MEDEVAC, air assault, and close combat support on the modern battlefield.

Established as a branch in 1983, Army Aviation remains globally deployed while transforming for large scale combat and multi-domain operations. Recent updates include the Aviation Force Design Update 25-29, restructuring Combat Aviation Brigades and modernizing fleets; continued progress on the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA); implementation of Flight School Next (FSN ) to enhance Initial Entry Rotary Wing training; doctrine updates to FM 3-04; and modernization of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) training, including the new 15X MOS - shaping the next generation of Army Aviators.
