Mental Health America of Central Carolinas - MHA MHA's mission is to provide help, offer hope and promote mental wellness through an array of services

Mental Health America of Central Carolinas is a staffed, nonprofit agency with a volunteer board serving Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties, with advocacy as its primary role in the community. This is accomplished through programs such as Compeer, ParentVOICE, Legislative Advocacy and Grassroots Network (AIMWell), Suicide Prevention Training, Community Outreach, Information and Referral Service, Co

alitions and Committees. MHA promotes collaboration, cooperation, and communication among and between the local mental health services providers. It serves as a catalyst in promoting needed mental health services and improvements to the delivery system in the community. MHA of Central Carolinas is affiliated with Mental Health America at the national level and is a members of the North Carolina MHA Collaborative.

Mental Health America of Central Carolinas is excited to launch the **MHA Family V.O.I.C.E. Program** โ€” a new 17-week youth-centered initiative designed to support justice-involved youth and youth facing life challenges through mentorship, emotional wellness, accountability, communication, and life-skills development.

Youth participants will engage in:
โœ… Emotional Regulation
โœ… Communication Skills
โœ… Mental Health Awareness
โœ… Conflict Resolution
โœ… Decision-Making
โœ… Goal Planning & Identity Development
โœ… Relationship Building
โœ… Family Support

Parents and caregivers will participate in aligned sessions that reinforce the same themes, helping families build stronger communication, accountability, and support systems together.

Mental Health America of Central Carolinas is honored to be one of the beneficiaries of the 2026 Ace the Stigma Tennis Memorial Event Honoring Chuck Reiney.

Join the community on June 19-20 for an inspiring weekend of tennis, connection, and mental health awareness. Proceeds from this event support organizations working every day to provide education, advocacy, treatment, and su***de prevention services throughout our communityโ€”including MHA of Central Carolinas. The event honors the memory of Chuck Reiney and helps continue the important conversation that mental health matters.
