On September 11, 2001, The Salvation Army responded at Ground Zero, the Pentagon and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, serving those who rushed toward the crisis and those who remained for the long recovery.

From meals and supplies to prayer, emotional care and practical support, Salvation Army officers, staff and volunteers stood alongside first responders, recovery workers, military personnel and grieving families.

Twenty-five years later, their stories remain a powerful reminder of what it means to serve.
