Robyn Thomson and her two daughters approach the casket of their late husband and father, Army Reserve Lt. Col. Todd Douglas Thomson, at Arlington National Cemetery, Va., July 1, 2015. “He was very reserved, very poised and had excellent character,” said Capt. Jeremy R. Sims, Headquarters and Headquarters commander for the DLA Army Reserve Element. “He walked with an air of leadership, and he didn’t have to say much but when he did say something, it really mattered.”

Duty, Honor, Country, A Lifetime of Service" 🇺🇸. From the halls of West Point to the highest levels of military leadership, the journey has been one of unwavering commitment, sacrifice, and purpose. As a Joint Staff Director, I have had the privilege of working alongside the finest leaders and warriors, those who embody the very core of our military’s strength: integrity, discipline, and an unshakable resolve. West Point instilled in me the values that have guided my every step: leadership, duty, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Those same principles continue to shape my mission today, ensuring that we stand ready to protect our nation and uphold the freedoms we hold dear. To my fellow service members, past, present, and future, you are the heart of this great institution, and your dedication is what keeps our flag flying high. The work is never done, but with the right leadership and commitment, we will always be ready to meet any challenge. For country. For duty. For those who serve. 🇺🇸. .

I had the privilege of joining Lt. Gen. Francis Donovan, Director of The Joint Staff, and a distinguished group of interagency guests for the iconic Marine Barracks Washington 8th & I Summer Evening Parade on January 16, in Washington, D.C.
This event showcased the precision, discipline, and professionalism of our Marines, reflecting the very best of our military traditions. Thank you, Lt. Gen. Donovan, for hosting such an inspiring evening, and to the Marines for their outstanding performance and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Semper Fidelis! 🇺🇸💪 .

Standing on Cavalry Parade Field that day, looking out at the Soldiers, families, and leaders who make Fort Riley what it is, I felt an overwhelming mix of gratitude, pride, and humility. The change of command on Apr 11, 2024, wasn’t just a ceremony, it was a moment to reflect on what it meant to serve alongside the incredible men and women of the 1st Infantry Division. It was an honor to pass the torch to Maj. Gen. John Meyer III, someone I deeply respect and trust to lead this historic division forward. Saying farewell was not easy, this team, this place, and this mission have meant so much to me and my family. Thank you, Big Red One, for allowing me the privilege to serve with you. You'll always have a place in my heart.
