Let's talk about a woman with a vision to rise.

The NYT reports: "Ms. Abrams, the former minority leader of the Georgia state House, has spent a decade building a Democratic political infrastructure in the state, first with her New Georgia Project and now with Fair Fight, the voting rights organization she founded in the wake of her losing campaign for governor in 2018."

Abrams tweeted out: "With new votes joining the tally, we are on a strong path. But even while we wait for more, let’s celebrate the extraordinary organizers, volunteers, canvassers & tireless groups that haven’t stopped going since Nov. Across our state, we roared. A few miles to go...but well done!"

MLB is officially elevating the Negro Leagues to 'Major League' status
On Wednesday, Commissioner Rob Manfred announced that the MLB is officially elevating the Negro Leagues to Major League status, calling it a "long overdue recognition." The move means the MLB will integrate statistics and records from thousands of players and seven professional Negro Leagues that operated from 1920-1948, including all-time great hitters like Josh Gibson.

Remember, just because Jackie Robinson was the first to play in MLB, doesn’t mean he was the first qualified. NOW, the stats will speak for themselves.

This is a good look at problems with policing and a broken system. Many don’t realize this problem isn’t new.
Ask any Black person, any age, any socioeconomic background, to tell a story about a frightening or negative experience with law enforcement and chances are, they can. I don’t believe any other race or people can say the same. It’s deeper than policing. Much deeper.

In our series “100 Years of Racism in U.S. Policing,” we take a critical look at post-riot policing commissions over the last 100 years in four short films.

When right-wing White men engage in political violence, racist America doesn't bat an eye. No there there. No need for intense media coverage, or terrorist labels, or tear gas, or armed police in riot gear, or National Guards.

Just boys being boys.

Trump loyalists skirmished with anti-Trump demonstrators over the weekend in Washington, leading to dozens of arrests, several stabbings and injuries to police officers.

Tiffany Richmond has a Vision 2 Rise.

Tiffany is the founder of the Black Women’s Business Coalition (BWBC), an alliance of Black women owned businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs.Tiffany knows that when Black women rise, families and a myriad of communities also rise. When Black women are educated and making money for their households - the entire community benefits.

Launched in 2020, BWBC welcomed its first cohort of entrepreneurs at the beginning of Covid. But that didn’t stop Tiffany’s vision. She knows that entrepreneurship is often born in hard times. Cohorts meet regularly to share ideas, provide feedback, and provide the resources to launch and scale a business. “The cohorts are small enough to create lasting bonds and continued support. BWBC is about building collaborative partnerships. We don’t see each other as competition. It is a safe space for women to be vulnerable and receive respectful feedback.”

Tiffany also knows that taking a leap of faith to start a business is often challenging. “As women we often question ourselves. We think we need to be perfect before launching a product or business. Bringing women to the realization that they need to just start and helping them with their confidence is the first step.”

Tiffany loves using her gifts of communication and coaching to help other women. Since launching BWBC she has helped several women to realize their dreams of entrepreneurship. She has also scaled BWBC to include virtual seminars and networking opportunities.

Thank you Tiffany for inspiring other women through giving them resources and support to start their own businesses. Thank you for your Vision 2 Rise.

Aside from working in the upper echelon of government, Rouse also boasts a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and is the dean and Lawrence and Shirley Katzman and Lewis and Anna Ernst Professor in the Economics of Education at Princeton University, where she is a professor of economics and public affairs, too.
Congratulations , Ceclila.

Joe Biden tapped Cecelia Rouse to be the next chairperson of the Council of Economic Advisers. If confirmed by the Senate, she would be the first Black person to ever hold the position.
