I am very proud that all of these ladies have allowed me to be a small part of their nonprofit organization to build a new nonprofit animal shelter in Eaton County. The need is most certainly there and I think I’m more proud of the fact that they will not be affiliated with government funding or control. That shelter will be a magnificent addition to this county, all of it citizens, as well as the many, many animals that they will save and keep safe. I know the ladies would appreciate any support that they can get. Their website is at www.foeca.org and you can get a lot of information there.
Pretty cool today if you look at the front page of the Lansing state journal. I just got a quick picture to post, but today’s addition features the Friends Of Eaton County Animals. I have no doubt whatsoever that they will get their mission accomplished, and that once the initial work has been completed, there will be a full plan in place to make sure it is funded properly all of the time. I think one of the main benefits that the shelter could provide other than the countless that we already know would be the fact that they may have the opportunity to have a 24 Hour veterinary clinic within that facility. So people would not have to drive to MSU or over to Williamston for emergency care that can be rather pricey.
Show them some love if you can. They truly deserve it. This is quite an undertaking for this group, but they are dedicated.
