Another successful MPD Summer Camp is in the books.

This year’s campers learned about the MPD and its role in the community. They also enjoyed hands-on experiences and were introduced to SRT training gear, K9 officers, equipment, crime scene processing, what it’s like to drive impaired and much more.

A big thank you to the campers who came out and spent their time with us. Another big thank you to all the MPD officers and staff who took the time to meet, speak and interact with all the inquisitive young minds.

See you next year!

On Saturday, May 30, the Mooresville Police Department once again participated in the annual St. Paul at the Lake Church block party.

We always value the opportunity to engage in fun, food, and meaningful fellowship with the residents we serve.

Our sincere thanks to Pastor Will for his leadership and hard work in bringing the community together for this successful event.

From K9s to SRT training to criminal investigations, 15 participants in this year’s MPD Citizens Academy spent 12 weeks gaining firsthand insight into what police officers experience daily and why the Town of Mooresville is one of the safest, midsized communities in the United States.

During the June 2 graduation ceremony, participants heard from Commissioner Dana Tucker, who also was a participant, and class member Melissa Everett, who talked about the experiences she gained by participating.

👏Congratulations to all the graduates!

MPD has been busy connecting with our community!

Last Saturday, Officers Ammons and Kuzmunich first spent their time meeting and having lunch with community members at a Winnie Hooper Recreation Center cookout. Then, both officers, joined by Captain Rodriguez and his squad, along with Officer Dave, spent time at Piedmont Pointe Apartments, handing out pizza, giveaways, and raffling off prizes.

On Tuesday, MPD was at Davidson’s 2026 Springfest where they met with other area officers as well as community members.
