The Register of Deeds is the custodian and manager of a large number of public records, and it is our goal to assist our customers with professionalism, courtesy, and accuracy in recording and obtaining them. Our office and online database is an archive for these records which include deeds, deeds of trust, plat maps, powers of attorney, and many other county documents dating back to the 1700s. It

is a pleasure to serve the Iredell community, and we hope that by bringing in new technology, we can grant you quick and easy access to the information you need.

🇺🇸Happy Flag Day from the Iredell County Register of Deeds Office! 🇺🇸

Today, June 14, we honor Old Glory and the unity, resilience, and freedom it represents. On this day in 1777, the Continental Congress officially adopted the Stars and Stripes.

As the keepers of our county’s history and public records, we see firsthand the deep roots, dedication, and shared heritage of our community every day.
We look back with immense gratitude at the generations who served under this flag to protect our freedoms.

We are proud to see the American flag fly outside our office today and every day. We wish our entire community a warm and meaningful Flag Day!

Curious, how are you displaying your flag or celebrating in Iredell County today? Let us know in the comments! 👇🔴⚪🔵

It was a beautiful afternoon attending the Liberty Tree Dedication hosted by the Iredell County Public Library and the Iredell NC 250. This tree was planted in honor of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, commemorating 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

We had the opportunity to hear from the local history librarian, along with several guest speakers, who shared meaningful insights into our nation’s history. The Iredell America 250 Committee has worked collaboratively to ensure representation from across the county, bringing together voices and perspectives that reflect the strength and diversity of Iredell County. What a beautiful reminder of our Nation's founding.

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the North Carolina Association of Registers of Deeds Spring Legislative Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina. During the conference, I had the opportunity to meet State Auditor Steve Boliek and hear important updates from Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, as well as representatives from North Carolina Vital Records. We also made time for a brief visit to the State Capitol, where we were able to observe the historic building firsthand and reflect on its significance as the center of state government and legislative activity in North Carolina.

Opportunities like this are invaluable for building professional relationships, sharing knowledge, and staying informed on issues that impact our work and the communities we serve.

This weekend, I had the privilege of participating in “Easter for Thousands” at South River Baptist Church. Each year, Mountaire Farms prepares and distributes thousands of holiday meals to support families in need throughout the community.

Thanks to an incredible group of volunteers at South River Baptist Church, we successfully packed and loaded 3,000 boxes, which were distributed to nearly 40 churches and nonprofit organizations across the region. Each box provides meals for a family of four, meaning our collective efforts will help feed approximately 12,000 people in the coming week.

I’m truly grateful to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated community.

A sincere thank you to Mountaire Farms for organizing this meaningful event and for their generosity in serving those in need.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ron “Duck” Wyatt, who faithfully served as the Iredell County Register of Deeds from August 22nd, 2016 to January 4th, 2021.

Ron left a lasting footprint on this office and on every person who had the privilege of working alongside him. As a leader, he set the tone with integrity, professionalism, and genuine compassion. He believed public service was not just a position, but a responsibility to serve every citizen with fairness, respect, and efficiency. Ron worked diligently to ensure the office operated with transparency and excellence, always striving to improve processes and better serve the people of Iredell County. He made it a priority to be accessible and supportive, leading by example and stepping in wherever he was needed. Above all, he cared deeply about his staff—encouraging them, recognizing their hard work, and creating an environment where they felt valued and appreciated. His steady guidance and servant’s heart defined his leadership.

Ron demonstrated his commitment to education and professional development by rejoining the North Carolina Register of Deeds Association during his tenure as Iredell County Register of Deeds. He ensured that his staff had the opportunity to attend NCARD District Workshops and Conferences, enabling them to stay current with new processes and laws and better serve the public.

Ron was a wonderful man with a giving heart. His presence, leadership, and deep care for Iredell County are irreplaceable, and he will be greatly missed.

We extend our sincere condolences to his wife, Julie, and his sons, Parker and Ethan, during this difficult time. Please join us in keeping his family in your thoughts and prayers as we remember and honor his life of service.
