Dear Community, listen… the first day of school may be behind us, but our commitment to these children is not. 💙

Through our Back-to-School Initiative, Operation 412NC was blessed to serve 25 children living in non-traditional housing, helping them walk into the school year with confidence, dignity, and the supplies they needed.

Now, we’re preparing for the next season.

The same children who needed backpacks, clothing, shoes, haircuts, and hairstyles for school may soon need coats, hats, gloves, and boots as temperatures begin to fall.

That’s why we’re transitioning from Back-to-School to Grace in the Cold.

Our goal is to help keep 50 children warm this winter—and we need our community to help us get there.

Dear Community, listen…

Before temperatures drop, Operation 412NC is preparing to make sure our neighbors know they have not been forgotten.

Through our Grace in the Cold initiative, our goal is to help keep 50 children warm this winter, while also providing winter essentials to families experiencing housing insecurity and individuals experiencing homelessness.

Who takes care of Mom?

This May, Operation 412NC is answering that question through our Massages for Moms initiative.

We are specifically seeking sponsors to help us provide a moment of rest, relaxation, care, and dignity to mothers who may rarely have the opportunity to care for themselves—especially moms who are sleeping in their cars or staying in non-traditional housing, including shelters, hotels, transitional housing, and other temporary living situations.

These moms are carrying more than most people can see.

They are caring for their children.
They are navigating housing instability.
They are trying to hold everything together.

And sometimes, Mom needs someone to take care of her.

We serve single mothers and families, children, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those facing housing insecurity throughout the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community.

Cold weather is coming, and for a child without a warm coat or someone sleeping on the streets, winter is more than uncomfortable—it can be devastating.

Through Operation 412NC’s Grace in the Cold Initiative, we are preparing to serve:

💙 50 children with new hats, coats, and gloves.

💛 Our homeless community with blankets, comforters, hand warmers, hats, and gloves.

📚 TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY! 🎉

Dear Community, listen… August 25th is here! 💙💛

As our children walk into their first day of school, my heart is full. I have not heard one complaint about what they received—from the haircuts and hairstyles, to the new shoes, to the outfits and clothing provided for those who didn’t have to wear uniforms.

That is because of YOU—our donors, volunteers, businesses, stylists, barbers, partners, and community supporters.

You didn’t simply give items or services. You helped our children walk into school feeling seen, confident, cared for, and ready to learn.

Now I’m anxiously waiting to see those beautiful back-to-school pictures! 📸✨

We are still overwhelmed with gratitude! THANK YOU to every person, business, volunteer, stylist, barber, donor, and community partner who helped make Operation 412NC’s Back-to-School initiative possible. Your support was invaluable, and because of you, children walked away prepared, confident, and ready for a new school year. 🎒👟❤️

But our work doesn’t stop with Back-to-School.

In just a few short months, Grace in the Cold returns—and this year, we want to extend that grace even further.

🧥 Our goal is to provide approximately 50 children—including children we supported for Back-to-School—with winter coats, hats, gloves, and boots.

We also want to provide our neighbors experiencing homelessness with:
