Moving Forward-Charlevoix and NOMI are hosting a forum for the MI State Rep 107 candidates on July 13th from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Charlevoix Public Library.

The forum will feature Democratic candidates Melissa Perron and Brendan Carr. While Parker was invited, we did not receive a response and are proceeding with the confirmed candidates.

Seventeen months after returning to office, Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen in every state, according to new polling. Nationally, his net approval has collapsed to minus 21. In Michigan, Trump sits at minus 18 as of June 15, 2026.
The decline is being driven by younger voters, independents and even parts of Trump’s Republican base. For Michigan Democrats, these numbers are especially encouraging. With Trump deeply underwater in a key battleground state, Democrats are in a stronger position heading into future House, Senate and statewide races. In closely divided contests, even a modest shift away from Trump could help Democrats expand their advantage and make it harder for Republicans to compete in Michigan.
