The crew of USS Constitution, America’s oldest commissioned warship afloat, proudly participated in the annual Bunker Hill Day Parade in Charlestown, Massachusetts.
Marching through the historic streets where the American fight for independence first ignited, they honored the legacy of those who stood their ground at the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775.
This year’s parade held added significance as it marked the 251st anniversary of that pivotal battle; one of the first major engagements of the American Revolutionary War. The Battle of Bunker Hill proved that colonial forces were both willing and able to challenge the British Army. Despite being outnumbered and under-supplied, patriot militias fought with extraordinary determination, inflicting heavy casualties and proving that the pursuit of liberty would not be easily silenced.
Each year, the Charlestown community commemorates this defining moment with a parade that celebrates the courage, sacrifice, and enduring spirit of the Revolutionary generation. As the Sailors of Old Ironsides march in step with history, they embody the same values of honor, service, and resilience that have guided the U.S. Navy for nearly 250 years.
Their presence is both a living tribute to the past and a steadfast commitment to carrying its lessons forward.
