Dr. Tom Takubo, WV State Senate Dr. Tom Takubo is a physician and privileged to represent the West Virginia State Senate in District 17. Tom knows the value of hard work.

Born and raised in West Virginia, Dr. Tom Takubo's father was a coal miner and his mother was a school teacher. Dr. Takubo's first experience with healthcare was in Emergency Medical Services where he was named paramedic of the year and even competed in national EMS competitions representing the state of West Virginia. After attending Marshall University, Dr. Takubo received his medical degree fro

m the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to his current medical practice, Dr. Takubo is still medical faculty for West Virginia University. Dr. Takubo did his specialty training in Pulmonology and critical care after having watched his father suffer from black lung and lung cancer. Dr. Takubo is widely recognized as having brought the most advanced lung diagnostics system to West Virginia. Currently, Dr. Tom Takubo is a successful business owner and partner in one of the most unique lung centers in the country. Dr. Takubo's experience as a healthcare provider and business owner put him in a unique position to help guide the state through some of its most pressing issues: providing jobs and providing access to affordable healthcare. Tom resides in the Southridge area of South Charleston and has three children.

Thank you to every volunteer who knocked doors, made calls, shared posts, put up signs, donated, prayed, encouraged others, and stood beside us every step of the way. Campaigns are never about one person - they are about people who believe in something bigger than themselves and are willing to fight for their community and their values.

Thank you to my family for their strength, sacrifice, and unwavering support. I could never do this without you.

I’m also grateful for the incredible coalition of support from throughout our district and state - from working families, small business owners, healthcare workers, teachers, first responders, law enforcement, labor, energy workers, community leaders, and so many others who placed their faith in me.

I will continue working every day to earn that trust. I will continue fighting for affordable living, good jobs, strong communities, quality healthcare, public safety, and a brighter future for West Virginia families.

It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve the people of Kanawha County. I would be truly humbled to earn your vote today.

Please get out and vote - not just for me, but for the West Virginia we deserve. A state where hardworking families can thrive, where our kids can stay and build a life, and where outside money doesn’t get to pick our leaders.
