MORE THAN 252,000 BALLOTS WERE CAST in West Virginia's May 2026 Primary Election. Of those ballots, the majority were cast in person, reflecting continued voter engagement across the state.

WV Secretary of State Kris Warner said, "Election administration is one of the most important responsibilities of my Office, and my team works closely with all 55 county clerks to ensure every eligible voter has the opportunity to participate and that every ballot is secured and counted accurately."

MOBILE OFFICE HOURS are coming to Cabell, Harrison, and Nicholas counties on National Voter Registration Day, Tuesday, September 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Stop by to check voter registration status, update voter information, or register to vote for the first time. WV Secretary of State Field Representatives will be on hand to provide assistance and answer questions.

TAYLOR COUNTY IS GETTING READY for the upcoming election! WV Secretary of State Kris Warner visited Taylor County Clerk Jaron Freeman on Tuesday, September 8th. Secretary Warner met with Clerk Freeman to discuss election preparations and ongoing efforts to ensure Taylor County is ready for the November 3rd General Election.

VETERANS ENCOURAGED TO SERVE AS POLL WORKERS through Vet the Vote. WV Secretary of State Kris Warner was the keynote speaker at a Vet the Vote event in Monongalia County on Thursday, September 10. Vet the Vote is a national campaign that recruits veterans and military family members to serve as poll workers. During the event, Secretary Warner recognized veterans for their service to West Virginia elections and was joined by Carye Blaney, Monongalia County Clerk, along with local legislators and community leaders.

CELEBRATING HERITAGE IN CLARKSBURG. The WV Secretary of State's Office was proud to participate in the 47th Annual West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival Grand Feature Parade in Clarksburg on Saturday, September 5th. Members of the Secretary of State's team and their families represented the office and joined the celebration of West Virginia's rich Italian-American heritage and traditions. Kathy Hess drove the parade vehicle while Sarah Carey rode shotgun, and Sarah's children, Kayleah and Connor, delighted paradegoers by handing out candy along the route. The parade also honored Phil Cunningham, the Festival's 2026 Honorary Italian Man of the Year.

A TOTAL OF 5,082 ABSENTEE BALLOTS were requested by voters in West Virginia's May 12th Primary Election. That data and more was released on Wednesday in a post-election report by WV Secretary of State Kris Warner.
