I had such an amazing time at the National Association of Social Workers West Virginia chapter conference! Between sessions dedicated toward veteran’s re-entry, and my new-found love for peri-natal mental health, I cannot wait to drop the candidate from the MSW candidate next to my name!

Thanks to the Miss America Scholarship Foundation, and to Concord University (an official sponsor of the Miss West Virginia Opportunity), the financial burden of a Master’s degree is lighter! How blessed am I to be able to serve the Kanawha Valley 🩷

In honor of world period poverty week, I want to highlight an organization fighting to close that gap and stop the stigma ❤️
is a licensed nonprofit that provides period kits to menstruating people all across the world, and last month myself and were honored to be invited to a symphony performance fundraiser benefiting their period kits. There were enough supplies donated in two hours for over 200 women in our very region!

United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties Day of Caring 🍀💐🌱

I spent the day sprucing up the Mon County child advocacy center! Last year, there were over 250 forensic interviews that took place in this facility - many of them involving disclosures of abuse. Walking into the forensic interview room can be scary, but hopefully walking onto a beautiful campus could help put a mind at ease 🩷
Thank you for not only allowing me to donate my time, but also donate some financial resources needed to carry out this project! We created our own sunshine on this rainy day!!

Because sometimes you just need to take a half day and go outside ⛰️

One of the ways I stay is by taking breaks during the work week that involve no screens, and during the warmer months, usually involve a walk through our mountain mama 🩷

My mid-week break this week was a 5 mile visit through the Endless Wall Trail in Fayette County. This Women’s Health Month (and every month), give more time to yourself!

Survivorship is never over, and this past year has held some of the lowest points of my journey. However, I have learned my limits, been trusted with others’ journeys of survivorship, and embraced the uncomfortable—so much so that it has become comfortable.

My official Miss West Virginia headshot holds my past and my future—the color of my little ribbon, my signature teal, and the fierce expression I carry into the next chapter of my life.

I wish every day was Sneaker Ball Day with the 👟✨👑

Our at-large titleholders have officially joined the class, and now our family is complete! Lots of Candy line dances, moments that made me feel so thankful to be here (hair teasing and all) and foods I cannot eat filled the evening! I can’t wait to get back together!!
