June 1-7 is National CPR & AED Awareness Week ❤️

Per the American Heart Association - 70% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes. If you are called on to give CPR in an emergency, you will most likely be trying to save the life of someone you love. Be the difference for your parent, spouse, or child. What if it were them?

While 911 is always here to help and guide you along the way, every second counts during a cardiac emergency.

During National CPR & AED Awareness Week, we encourage everyone to learn the lifesaving skills of CPR and how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).

As pools start opening up for the season, now is a great time to brush up on water safety reminders for your family and friends 🏊

A few simple precautions can help prevent emergencies and keep everyone safe around the water:

• Never leave children unattended near a pool or body of water, even for a moment.
• Make sure inexperienced swimmers or children wear properly fitted life jackets.
• Put children in bright colored swimsuits for easier visibility.
• Stay hydrated and take breaks from the heat and always re-apply sunscreen! ☀️
• Avoid swimming during storms or inclement weather
• Learn CPR and know how to call for help in an emergency 🚨

Drowning can happen quickly and quietly. Staying alert can save a life!

From all of us at Metro 911, we hope you have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend! 🇺🇸

Pip here! With some serious feelings about the rain forecast this week.. 🌧️

Naps? ✔️
Blankets? ✔️
Treats? ✔️

I plan to spend the rainy days cozy, sleepy, and supervising from the comfort of my favorite chair!

While I nap, our dispatchers and responders will still be here 24/7 rain or shine if you need them.

Please remember to slow down on wet roads, watch for standing water, and be prepared for the conditions a storm could bring.

Stay dry, humans! - Pip 🐾
