The Regional Office of Education #11 is open today and ready to serve our community.

If any residents, families, or workers are in need of bottled water, food, hygiene kits, or a place to charge electronic devices, please stop by between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Additionally, ROE #11 staff will be out in the community delivering lunch to cleanup crews, law enforcement, and all those working hard to restore our town. Our good friends at Chick-fil-A Mattoon are donating sandwiches and Charleston Rural King has donated plenty of water.

Most importantly, if you or someone you know has been displaced by last night’s storm and has children in need of temporary housing, please contact our office immediately. We are here to help.

Regional Office of Education #11 is pleased to recognize Teresa Metzger with the ‘Friends of Education’ award. For ten years, Teresa Metzger has served our region as an Attendance Specialist and McKinney Vento Lead Liaison working with students, families, school districts, and communities to provide resources for our most vulnerable populations. Today is Teresa’s last day of work as she is retiring and eagerly awaits becoming a grandma for the second time any day now. Upon retirement, she plans to stay active and continue being involved in her community. We appreciate her years of joy, dedication, and commitment to service. Thank you, Teresa!
