Today, on Women Veterans Recognition Day, the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance honors the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of the millions of women who have served in our Armed Forces.

From the revolutionary battlefields to modern-day global operations, women have broken barriers, shaped military history, and defended our freedoms. Yet, their incredible contributions have too often gone unsung. To all the women Veterans in our community and across the nation: We see you, we honor you, and we thank you for your service.

Our commitment to you doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. We are dedicated to ensuring you receive the benefits, healthcare, and support you earned. Learn more at: https://veterans.wv.gov/Pages/WomenVeterans.aspx

Fortunately, another veteran he’d met online recommended Rife seek mental help from the local VA hospital, and he’s now in a much better place mentally.
